Time: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
day: Day 2 – Net-Zero Carbon

Details:

Open roundtable 1: Flexible futures: What is the role of decentralised, democratised energy on the road to net-zero?

Renewable energy technologies and ‘flexible’ power systems such as energy storage and demand response are together changing the way that energy is generated and used. This open roundtable discussion will explore  how businesses can champion decentralised, democratised energy systems to deliver deep decarbonisation.

The roundtable will consist of a group of sustainability and energy experts, hand-picked by edie. All other attendees are able to sit in on the conversation, share their own ideas, and ask questions throughout the one-hour session.

Discussion points:

  • What the future holds for renewable energy in the UK, and what that means for business
  • Utilising battery storage to cut carbon, control costs and deliver commercial returns
  • Key considerations when making the shift to demand response-based systems

Participants include:

Anda Baumerte, Sustainability Manager, Northern Powergrid
